GRAND COUNTY PET PALS - MISSION STATEMENT

Dedicated to responsible pet ownership, animal health and education programs, and spay/neuter of pets in Grand County.

HISTORY

Grand County Pet Pals was started in 1993 as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting the Grand County Animal Shelter with its spay/neuter program. Today, Pet Pals continues to fulfill its mission of responsible pet ownership in Grand County through many different programs.

Pet Pals provides funds to the Shelter for its spay/neuter program for animals adopted at the Shelter and to individuals and families in financial need for spay/neuter of their pets. Without the generosity and support of the community, your neighbors, friends and family, Pet Pals would not be able to do this.

Some of the funds from our fundraising activities and grants are used to develop educational programs tied to responsible pet ownership including animal health, proper care, and training. Pet Pals aims to communicate more with young people about the importance of responsible pet ownership and kindness to animals.

The programs are supported through memberships, donations from individuals, memorial donations, donation jars at many Grand County businesses and fundraising events, including the Doggie Drag, Romp & Stomp, and Pet Photos with Santa. Numerous volunteer hours are contributed by the Board and volunteers to develop these programs.
